How to install Cydia Tweaks on iOS 8.X and Jailbreak By Pangu

The Pangu team has released the jailbreaking tool for iOS 8.X on iDevices. There was just one thing missing in the jailbreak — Cydia.

Good news is that Saurik quickly updated Cydia for iOS 8.1 and iOS 8.0, and has made available for manual download via its website. The Pangu team should issue an update of Pangu version, but if you can not wait until then, here's how to install Cydia the manual method.

Make sure your iOS 8 - 8.1 is jailbroken iOS device. You can follow our guide if you need help:

1.Download the Cydia deb file Click Here, and cydia-lproj file Click Here on your PC/Mac.

2.You’ll need to to send the file to your iOS device via SFTP. If you’re on Mac, download and install Cyberduck, and if you’re on Windows, Download and install WinSCP.

3.Make sure your PC / Mac and iOS device are on the same Wi-Fi network. Get the IP address of your device in Settings> Wi-Fi and press the "i" button against the network you are connected. Note the series of numbers marked IP address.

4.Open Cyberduck or WinSCP now open and SSH into your device with the IP address you got from the previous step, and the username "root" and the password as "alpine" (to both without the quotes).

5.Now on you should see a file browser, and you can drag and drop both deb files in a location that you remember

6.Then press Ctrl + T or + T to start an SSH session from the command line. Navigate to the same folder (using the cd command) where you copied the deb file

 7.Now, run these commands in order:’dpkg -i cydia-lproj v1.1.12_iphoneos-arm.deb’ ‘dpkg -i cydia_1.1.13_iphoneos-arm.deb’ (without quotes)

8.If you get warnings of any dependency missing, download the dependency manually from this link and repeat the process, and try to install Cydia again with the same command as above.

9.Reboot your device, and if all goes well, you should see a Cydia icon on your home screen.

If you’re having trouble with the above method try this one:

1.First, you'll need to be jailbroken. Learn how to jailbreak here: How to Jailbreak iOS 8 to 8.1 with Pangu

2.Once you have're jailbroken, go to the Pangu App and download and install OpenSSH.

3. Now, download the two deb files Click here and Click here and save them to your desktop.

4.Once the deb files are saved , you need to download an SSH client like Cyberduck 2 (Mac), WinSCP (Windows). For this tutorial, I will be using FileZilla and Terminal on Mac so I'm going to explicitly tell you how to use both. If you use other software, the steps are similar

5.First open Settings on your iPhone and tap on "Wi-Fi". Then click on the "i" to find out what your IP address is. Have to keep that screen up again.

Now open FileZilla. On top of would need to fill the following information:

1.Host: The IP address of your iPhone
       Username: root
       Password: alpine
Port: 21 or 22, wearing what one works.

2.Now, once you're connected, click the folder with the name "var" to expand it. Scroll down to "root" and expand it. Here you will find a folder called "Media". Open it up and create a new folder called "Cydia". Open Cydia and create another folder called "AutoInstall" and open it. This is where you to drag and drop deb files. Drag and drop the two one in and wait for it to transferred. Once transferred over, we have finished with FileZilla.

3.Now, open Terminal. Just search for it in Spotlight, if you’re not familiar with the program.

4.Here is where we will SSH into your iPhone, so you’ll need your IP address again. So type this, but of course with out quotes:

              ssh root@YourIPAddressHere” and hit enter.

                Password: “alpine

5.Once you’re logged in, we need to go to the folder where we put the deb files. So type this:

“cd /var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall/” and hit enter. Now we’re in the folder so we can install the deb files. Now type this:

dpkg –install cydia-lproj_1.1.12_iphoneos-arm.deb cydia_1.1.13_iphoneos-arm.deb” and hit enter.  This should install the debs. Now, once it’s completed, reboot your phone and Cydia should be on your phone.
